Bolivia was a bit of a spontaneous trip for me. I went just after my time in Peru with a great friend I met there. We only went for a week but squeezed as much as possible in. To learn my quick tips click here.

LA PAZ

The highest capital city in the world. Make sure you take altitude pills or lots of cocoa tea.

SALAR DE UYUNI

This amazing place used to be a huge salt water lake. However, now it has hardened over and is a vast mass of salt. You can even see the 'islands' that used to exist.

TUNUPA VOLCANO

This dormant volcano is located very near to Salar de Uyuni and often included in tours of the Salt Flats.

train graveyard

This is exactly what it sounds like! It has a lot of history intertwined with the town of Uyuni, which you will find very interesting.

ISLA DE SOL

This is an island on the Bolivian side of Lake Titicaca. The people who live here are like no other.
