10 Trips to do in your 20's
This is a top 10 list of trips to take from the ages of 20 to 29 years old. Now I am not saying that you can't do them in your 30's or even your 40's but they are all trips suited to people young at heart with a great sense of adventure. So without further ado let's get into it!
As a number one gap year location, you'll be sure to find lots of other younger travellers. Thailand is very diverse, being full of lively cities as well as cultural gems and beautiful islands. So there's guaranteed to be something that you will enjoy, whether it be partying the night away, hiking through beautiful green scenery or relaxing on golden beaches.
Road Trip Through USA
I have road tripped around New Zealand but never around America. It is the perfect country to road trip in because of its big long roads that lead from state to state most with little traffic on! It will be an adventure of a life time driving through the states, music blaring with all your best mates in the back. I have thought about spending a year in America and visiting a state each week for 50 weeks and then Puerto Rico and Washington for the two spare weeks. Maybe one day I will do it, it would certainly be an adventure.
Interailing Eastern Europe
Eastern Europe is a great place to go inter-railing mainly because all of the countries are so close together! There are a host to choose from; Austria, Czechia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, the list goes on. It's a great trip to take in your 20s because you can still easily manage the confined and uncomfortable sleeping arrangements and fast pace of catching trains all the time!
Weekend in Vegas
A weekend in Vegas is one of the most expensive trips on this list, but it's one of those things that could be an insane life experience and a lot of fun! If you're a fan of The Hangover then this could be a trip you'd want to try... I mean who wouldn’t want to marry a stripper and chill with Mike Tyson. Anything can happen in Vegas!
Amsterdam is a very unusual city because you can find anything here! It's full of youth hostels and plenty of opportunities to meet new people. There are amazing museums such as Body Worlds which is one of my favourite museums I've ever visited. However, if you want something more lively Amsterdam also has a great night life and plenty of coffee shops to poke your head into if that's your thing. It's the perfect crazy travel destination.
Greek Party Islands
The Greek Islands are such versatile travel destinations. Whether it be Mykonos, Ios, Corfu, Rhodes, Kos or Paros, or perhaps island hopping around a few, there are so many islands to see. All of the islands have an amazing clear blue ocean coast line (some even have turtles!) to explore and relax on and sunbath at during the day and copious amounts of clubs to drink at during the night, which will be packed with British teens having the time of their lives. Note; if a crazy night out isn't your cup of tea, the nightlife might not be for you. However, it can be a perfect place to forget all your problems that life has thrown at you and live while you're young! Without trying to sound like a One Direction song.
Backpacking Around South America
South America is the perfect place to backpack. With tracks like the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and the Andes stretching through most countries in South America there is no shortage of places to hike. Backpacking is definitely something to do in your 20’s because of the ample amounts of walking and probably not much sleep… but when you're young you can cope with it for the amazing views at the top of the mountain where you can stop and relax with your hot thermos. Whether it be the more native cup of coca tea or a traditional hot chocolate.
Adrenaline Adventure in New Zealand
New Zealand is well known as the adrenaline capital of the world, especially in Queenstown on the South Island. You can do bungee jumping in some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Lakes and mountains in the distance whilst swinging from a piece of elastic, what else would you do in your 20's?!
Oktoberfest in Germany
Oktober Fest is an event in Munich which happens every year. There will be enough beer to last you a lifetime and to top it off you can dress up in typical German clothing and drink out of tankards. I just hope you can cope with a hangover the next day!
Tomorrowland in Belgium or Brazil
If you have been to a few festivals you have probably heard the hush whispers of Tomorrowland. It's a huge festival unlike any other, held in Belgium and Brazil so you have twice as much chance of going. Which is good because tickets can be expensive and very hard to come by, but if you can manage to get your hands on some it'll be an amazing experience to have in your 20s! Make the most of it and enjoy some great music!
