I wake up early again at about 7.00 am, so better than yesterday. But today is the day we are travelling to the FIB festival! We catch an hour long train from Valencia and we arrive in Benicassim at 11.00 am. It's sooooo hot, literally the worst weather to carry my backpack and put my tent up. Just to top it off the festival stewards put us in the most cramped position right next to a tree... thanks. I try and set up my tent as quickly as possible because by now I have beads of sweat running from my forehead. I literally just chuck my suitcase and backpack in and I don't even bother pegging it down... maybe that will come back to haunt me, but oh well! Not the best start to the festival but LET'S GO TO THE BEACH.
We played volleyball at the beach, it isn't as easy as you see on TV! I think we managed a best rally of about three and I had half my skin coated in sand. But as a 'reward' we headed straight to the bar after the beach. It's called Pub Chelsea and is my favourite choice because it has air conditioning, ice cold beer and a pool table. The past four years I had been, there was never anyone in the bar in the day and it's just a great place to chill!
The bartender was Spanish, obviously, and always seemed to try some of his own beer too. Hence he was always quite drunk in the day haha. My friend James was the first person to order a round of three beers. He paid with a €10 note and got back three beers and €11 change. We tried to explain what had happened but he was very insistent there was no problem. James didn't complain haha.
After the bar we buy some booze from the supermarket and head back to the campsite for a bit of a fiesta as the music doesn't start until Thursday. I bought apple vodka, which is way better than drinking beer because there is nowhere to keep it cold at the campsite and I hate warm beer! Our campsite circle consisted of 6 rocks to sit on because none of us had thought to bring chairs. Maybe a good plan for tomorrow. But the rocks would do great for tonight!
Later on we met up with some friends who I had met at the festival last year, Beth, Harriet and Catherine. We played ring of fire and other drinking games until the early hours of the morning, it was really fun. Hopefully I won't have a hangover tomorrow!
